Rabbit Chasing Wonderfulness Non-Knitting Edition
As I knit, I like to listen to things. I have mentioned this before but I thought I would explore some of the great podcasts I enjoy as I work or stitch away. :0) None of these have to do with knitting and most are "Doctor Who" themed and all or most of the hosts of these podcasts indulge in what one of the podcasts refer to as "Rabbit Chasing". Now, maybe it's because this is how my own brain works, buy I enjoy that.
Podcast: Christian O'Connell's Daily Choice Cuts
Hosts: Christian O'Connell, Richie Firth, Maggie Doyle & Andrew Bailey
What it is: Choice cuts (or highlights) from the OC's breakfast show. By the way, if you're in the UK and currently listen to Chris Moyles in the morning and are searching for a new breakfast show, Christian's your man! He will have you crying with laughter and once you get started with the OC, Moyles will be nothing more than that guy you used to listen to sometimes. FACT.
What I like: If you don't live in the UK, the podcast is one great way to get in on the fun. And it is fun. One word: Spandathon. 4 1/2 hours of Spandau Ballet's "Gold". (NOTE*: You had to listen to the actual broadcast to catch the song) If you missed it, too bad. It was a one-off and will never happen again. As I was saying, this podcast is just great, entertaining, awkward, fun.
Podcast: The Sonic Toolbox
Hosts: Cheryl Lowe & Daisy Kauffman
What it is: Reviews and discussions of "Doctor Who" past & present, the "science" of "Doctor Who", and much fan muchness.
What I like: Cheryl & Daisy are the originators of the term "Rabbit Chasing" when you start off talking about...of The Eye of Harmony for instance, and wander off to deer-headed chihuahuas. There is a little something for any DW fan. *NOTE: Daisy is a KNITTER...so...BONUS!*
Podcast: The Oodcast
Hosts: Chris Alpha, Chris Sigma, Andrew and Laura
What it is: A happy little "Doctor Who" podcast.
What I like: Positivity. There is so little of it in the world at large but this little podcast is chock-full of it. Add to it the music and skits and you have a formula for an unusual and delightful little podcast.
Podcast: The Big Finish Podcast
Hosts: Nicholas Briggs, Paul Spragg, David Richardson
What it is: A podcast introducing upcoming releases and sales from Big Finish Productions.
What I like: Paul Spragg. Not enough? OK. The banter between the hosts often has me laughing out loud and even though they give each other a hard time, you can sense that they genuinely like each other and enjoy working together. You also hear trailers for the awesome upcoming releases. Still not enough? They have giveaways! :0D
I will have another post about more knitting-centric podcasts but I think that's enough from me for now.
Rock on, knitter beings!
